I am going to tell you about I advise every one who wants to become a writer. It’s one of the main and most importance facts before you become a well known and established writer. And it’s a secret that everyone must apply.
Most people would probably run away from it. They would want to try some other more easy way. More lazy way, actually. But those people are not considering the writing career seriously, that I can tell for sure.
Don’t run away. It’s a secret every writer knows and they are not shy or selfish enough as to tell it out. Yes, they hinted it many times but only a few who knew this secret could have worked it out.
Good writers have always been good readers
Got any idea? Very good! Yes, that’s exactly what I am talking about. Reading! Now, that’s not that bad is it? Like I said before, for some it may be, for others this is a piece of cake. I am not quoting the proverb and pretend that it works. I know that this works. I have tried it. And I have seen people who have tried it and then tried their hands at writing and those people who have who have not tried this little technique and their work.
But please be careful. Not every book out there would help you. Don’t just read the books which have an interesting cover or the back cover grabs your attention. But then, don’t ignore it either. Don’t read selectively. Try to read a wider and broader variety. One of the laws of writing is:
The kind of stuff you read the kind of stuff you write.
And that’s completely true. Now, if anyone just read romance stories, how can you expect them to write a mystery thriller or a children’s book? It would not only be a difficult task but also a nearly impossible one if the person doesn’t know the points kept in mind while writing a specific type of book.
Of course, you should try to concentrate more on the type of things that you want to write than those that you are considering to write. But just try to maintain a balance.
