Conquering Writer's Block

One of the biggest problems that a writer can face during writing is writer’s block. Even the bests of the writers face this problem. There is no basic reason as to why a writer should suddenly stop writing and search for ideas that are there but are just out of reach. Let’s have a clearer study of this phenomenon.

Writer’s Block occurs when a writer’s mind is too cramped with ideas. He/she tends to push away these for a clearer mind, resulting in none of the ideas left to be analyzed properly. This leaves a writer’s mind in a more confused situation yet. This is what we term as Writer’s Block.

Ideas are something that is very common that is why sometimes we neglect it and cannot find it. If it was something that people found worthwhile to find then, perhaps it would have been given more value. Even at this very moment as you are reading this text there might be an idea, perhaps in your unconscious mind. This idea may be something that I would be unknowingly giving to you, and another idea will occur that responds to my idea. What are you thinking right now? It’s perhaps an idea, which can be turned wholly into a story or perhaps into a part of the story. I know that it’s complicated but once you understand this it will help you better if you look for ideas.

It may be interesting to know that our conscious and unconscious mind are both idea-generating machines. Every second man has million, billion, trillion, zillions of ideas. That is one of the reasons why man advances.

Writer’s Block isn’t lack of ideas. It is the lack of consciousness to find them. Ideas can be generated from nearly anything. All you have to do is to reach out and grab for them.

If you ever suffer from Writer’s Block and cannot find ideas, then leave it. Start doing some other work. Or take a break. If you push your mind further into it, then your Writer’s Block may deepen and will perhaps create some problem if you return to your story next time.
